La teca della Compagnia di San Paolo arriva nel nuovo museo per l’inaugurazione

Torino, 30 marzo 2015 – L’installazione interattiva che negli ultimi due mesi ha accompagnato i torinesi verso il nuovo Museo Egizio si apre al mondo: da mercoledì 1° aprile, giorno di inaugurazione, a domenica 19 aprile, tutti potranno essere partecipi della riapertura ai visitatori, collegandosi al sito compagnia.egizio2015.it e soffiando nel microfono del proprio computer. Questo soffio muoverà da remoto il braccio robot nella teca svelando antichi reperti nascosti sotto la sabbia. Allo stesso tempo, guardando la teca dal vivo, i visitatori del museo potranno condividere l’emozione della riscoperta dell’Egizio con le persone collegate da lontano.

“Offrire alle persone che non sono a Torino di vivere l’inaugurazione collegandosi via web è il nostro modo per rendere davvero inclusiva, accessibile e partecipata la riapertura del museo, in linea con l’attenzione ricorrente che la Compagnia, nei suoi molteplici interventi, assegna a questi valori, ha dichiarato il Presidente della Compagnia di San Paolo, Luca Remmert. Giunge a termine anche la Clessidra che con la sua presenza in piazza San Carlo ci ha accompagnato negli ultimi mesi: i 200kg di sabbia sono passati, possiamo quindi davvero affermare che il momento è giunto per restituire l’Egizio al suo pubblico.”

Clessidra e teca sono le parti più coinvolgenti di una vasta campagna di comunicazione che la Compagnia di San Paolo ha realizzato per avvicinare il pubblico al nuovo Museo Egizio. Da novembre la clessidra allestita in piazza San Carlo, nel cuore di Torino, scandisce il tempo in vista dell’inaugurazione. A gennaio e febbraio la teca è stata esposta in diverse zone significative di Torino: alla Casa del Quartiere di San Salvario, a Palazzo Nuovo sede dell’Università, all’Ospedale infantile Regina Margherita, a Auchan e, in centro, in Galleria San Federico. Ha raccolto quasi duemila “soffi” di adulti e bambini, singoli, coppie e gruppi di amici portando alla scoperta delle fedeli riproduzioni in 3D di reperti archeologici dell’antico Egitto custodite presso il Museo. A breath from the world for the Egyptian museum

The Compagnia di San Paolo’s case arrives at the new museum for the inauguration

Turin, 30th March 2015 –The interactive installation which over the last two months has taken the citizens of Turin towards the opening of the new Egyptian Museum is open to the world: From 1st to 19th April anyone can access the Compagnia’s site (compagnia.egizio2015), blow into the microphone of their computer and take part in the reopening of the museum. This breath of air will action the robot lever in the case revealing ancient artefacts hidden under the sand. At the same time, looking at the case itself, museum visitors can share the thrill of rediscovering the Egyptian museum with people connected from afar.

“By offering people who are not in Turin the chance to take part in the inauguration via web is our way of making the reopening of the museum inclusive, accessible and actively participated, respecting the constant attention the Compagnia pays to these values with its numerous interventions, said the Chair of the Compagnia di San Paolo, Luca Remmert. The hourglass which has been in piazza San Carlo over the last months is running out: the 200kg of sand have fallen and we can say that the time has come to give the Egyptian back to its public.”

The hour-glass and case are the most riveting part of a wide-ranging communication campaign carried out by the Compagnia di San Paolo to attract the public to the new Egyptian Museum. Since November the hourglass in the heart of Turin, piazza San Carlo, has been marking the countdown to the inauguration. In January and February the case was on show in various significant areas of Turin: at the Casa del Quartiere in San Salvario, at Palazzo Nuovo (University of Turin), at the Regina Margherita Hospital for Children, at the Auchan mall and in downtown Galleria San Federico. It has collected almost two thousand “breaths” from adults and children, singles, couples and groups of friends, revealing accurate 3D reproductions of archaeological relics of ancient Egypt kept at the Museum.
